Pics I have found!!!

I have found some great pics and memorabilia from our Juve days. I so would love anyone with pics especially Behind the Lockers pics ('cause those are one I do not have) to send them to me. I really want to create a whole picture file of this precious time in our life. I found the program with the many profound notes so many of you wrote to me at the end of the plays. It brought tears to my eyes. We were were pretty amazing for highschoolers.

Also, when I was an actor I did do a play that I wrote and starred in of the fabulous Mae West. I had blast doing it and I have included a couple of shots of that time as well.

More Stuff People, MORE

Lets kep this thinkg going guys. I can beleive no one made a comment abnout my title of my post, that was such a huge line from Juve that stuck wih me fot all these years,

More from Lisa

I’ve been inspired by John’s post so here’s a little more about me.

I’m currently living through my husband and children. That is sort of tongue-in-cheek and sort of true. My world is mostly focused around my kids, which sounds terrifying when I say it out loud (or put it in black and white), though the reality is quite beautiful in so many ways.

I’ve been married to an amazing man named Joe (I probably don’t tell him that he’s amazing nearly often enough; maybe he’ll read this blog) since the spring equinox 1998. We got married and pregnant the same week. Ok, in truth we actually got pregnant and married the same week. We met in 1996 at a Contact Improvisation festival at a hot spring resort while I was living in LA and he was living in SF. We corresponded by email for eight months when I returned to TO to work on a TV show there. By the time we met again in person, it was clear to us both that we would be having a very serious relationship and would probably be have children together. Here’s a picture of him right now.

I tolerate the beard to prove how unimportant looks are to me but in secret I think he looks much better without it. ;)

About five years ago Joe started a company with a friend which now produces the world’s smallest windows XP computer. We’ve been waiting for it to pay off ever since so he can do cool environmental work that will change the world. It still might and he still might. The idea is to be self-supporting capitalists for the purpose of progressive change. Sound like familiar ideology Chris?

I used to have a career of my own working as an actor in film and tv. Seems like a long time ago, though. I quit after I had my son in 1998 and have not really regretted it much. Occasionally I miss the surreal experience of being on a set in the middle of the night or the thrill of the chase and victory of landing a part, but creatively it wasn’t very satisfying for the most part. Sometimes when I’m feeling particularly matronly or suburban, I miss the relative glamour of my past life, though “relative” is definitely the operative word. Anyway, I’m glad I had those experiences and feel very fortunate to have had as much luck as I did.

For a while after quitting acting I was seriously resisting being a stay-at-home mom and I worked as a business coach and communication skills trainer. I liked both but in the end they unexpectedly paled in comparison to being with my kids, learning about education and how to make it effective, and building attachment-parenting oriented community.

For those of you who know them, my parents still live in downtown TO and are mostly retired. My dad’s pretty committed to music and he just released his second CD. If you’re at all interested in jazz and/or ballads check out his CD, it’s really pretty good. My sister lives in upstate New York on a lovely piece of land with her drummer/manager husband and is also still singing and writing songs.

Some of my current and future aspirations are 1) to live in a co-housing community (if I can find people I’d actually want my family to live with) 2) to write 3) to finish my undergraduate degree and get deeper into the convergent studies of the future of work as it relates to family (topical issue here!) and 4) understand how to facilitate a truly progressive educational model.

Here’s a recent picture of me with Soleil.

Anyway, that’s probably way enough about me for now. As I write this you are all together at Sharkey’s. I look forward to hearing more from y’all. Love Lisa

Anyway, I am sort of testing out how blogging something from a web community i belong to works. Its called flickr and it is for sharing photography.
This is a test. Do not panic.

Happy is he who (SHE who) knows the causes of things

Hi all, this is great and I am thrilled to hear from so many amazing individuals! I hope that everyone is doing well and that all of you are living happy and healthy lives (and hey, if you're not, don't sweat it, things can always change).

So, I am going to be quick because I have a ton of work to do today and I just spent about 1 hour writing a blog to you all, pushed the back button on my browser and LOST ALL of my writing and pictures. Grrrrrr. It was good stuff too.

So, the last 20 odd years have been up and down. I really did not keep in touch with anyone from HCI due to my running away from life (learnt pretty quickly that it does not work that way).

I traveled a lot ( that image is of me traveling the globe - actually, its the art of a local guy whom I adore) and got into some really amazing adventures (if you want to call them that) and wrote some amazing stuff along the way. I traveled all of Canada and the US of A (loved it, so beautiful), went south, traveled all over Mexico and Central America, went to Europe, Malta, and would have kept going, but had to come home when I got news of my ex partners state of health (not good), so I ran home to be with him. The early 90's were an awful time for me as I lost some very dear friends and lovers far to early in their young lives. It has taken me a long time to let people in again (still working on it). Anyway, I should keep this light.

that's me in Malta (we have a house there now), a beautiful country in the Med.

I live in the T Dot as the kids say today and work in television. I started out in film and TV but hated it (the hierarchy and attitude) and I discovered long form documentary, which I love and have made a career out of. My goal now is to have my own production house and produce my own content. Soon.

I have 3 lovely new kids in my life (on nephew, two niece's). Let me show you them.

Here is what I look like today. If you are wondering why so much of the photos have graff in them, its because I love the art form. Anyway, here I am.....

That was taken in this weird spot I found in an alley off Queen West (I spend a lot of time exploring the places I live in and am always finding new things). Someone has hung a swing between 2 buildings that are merging in on each other and people have covered the walls with graf. Its such an awesome spot I had to take a picture.

And again....
Well, that's probably more than anyone has time to read, so, I will say goodbye. But one last thing.
You guys were my haven of safety during my highschool years. I am serious. It was terrifying being queer in an environment where most of the people would have rather killed me than hugged me. Thank you for being so advanced at such a young age. I really do mean it. Until the next time....Love and best wishes

So who's at the rad?

Hey guys this is awesome. Here I am with my husband Kevin. We do not have kids. Long story. But we are very happy and have been for 14 years. Married 9. Time really flies. As you can see from my blog link, I am a holistic Psychotherapist. A long way from the theatre. Although it does have some theatrical aspects to it. I did go in to acting for a while many years ago but after about 4 to 5 years it really grew old for me. Don't get me wrong I did write a few plays and acted in and produced them but the crazy lifestyle kind of did not jibe with me. I do miss the theatre atmosphere back stage and I remember our days together in highschool with you all with so much fondness and longing. It seems so far away yet not that much. I am looking forward to seeing you all. Wow what a long time it has been. Check out my website and really get of a sense of what I doing. Hugs. Victoria

JUVEnation Reunite!

Hi all, Great to reconnect. The whole high school thing was so fun and so important I'd love to catch up with you all. You can post pictures or text post here and everyone can see them. If you feel like inviting someone else from the epoque to join, by all means. I'll start off with a recent pic of my kids and will post more current details soon. Kaizen is almost 7, Soleil is almost 11 months.

Please BRAG!!! I want to know what you all have been doing...the great and the less consequential.

(Note: I had to call this page Juvenation.blogspot.com as the re part was taken.)

Looking for posts tomorrow. Love, Lisa
